We are experts in Clutch Replacement
Does the clutch fluid need replacing?
We can do that too! There isn’t really a given time on how long a clutch should last, it all comes down to the driver and how they treat the clutch. Doing burn outs and revving the engine high on take off will shorten the life of a clutch. We also offer brake repair and replacement.
How do you inspect the clutch?
There isn’t really a way to visually inspect a clutch apart from removing it from the car. This entails removing either the engine or the gearbox to gain access in order to remove it. (The gearbox is usually the easier option). Sometimes additional labour will be required if the sub frame requires removal in order to get the gearbox out of the vehicle. The way we will generally check the condition of your clutch is by road testing the vehicle. Don’t always be alarmed if the pedal feels high, every vehicle has their own characteristics and some of them feel quite high from new and will sometimes give you the false pretense that the clutch is close to failure.

What does a clutch kit include?
When a clutch kit is purchased, it will usually consist of: a clutch plate, clutch disc (this has the friction material) and a release/throw-out bearing. Did you know that along with the clutch as pictured above, there is also the cable or in most vehicles now, the hydraulic components? These items are what do the the work when the driver depresses the clutch pedal. It tells the clutch when to engage and disengage. Clutch hydraulic components aren't usually in a clutch kit and are sold separately in many cases.
Depending on the design of the clutch system, some vehicles do have a “concentric slave cylinder” This is the exception of when a part of clutch hydraulic system can sometimes be included in the clutch kit.
When asking for an estimate, please ask us and we can confirm the type of clutch system your vehicle has in place.
Clutch replacement can range in price quite substantially. We are finding it more and more common for vehicles to be fitted with “Dual Mass flywheels” which unfortunately means more expensive parts. The benefit of it a much nicer feeling clutch pedal.
Be wary of workshops offering cut-price so called “deals” that get you in the door initially, only to get that dreaded phone call a few hours later that the estimate has substantially increased. We attempt to keep our estimates as close to the final invoice price as possible and will always try to advise of possible incidentals based on our experience with each particular vehicle model.
There are some things that we will suggest when replacing a clutch, these would include:
Call or SMS about your clutch replacement or repair today! 0498 149 337
Warranty on Clutch Kit Components: You wouldn’t think this would be something that happens much, but it’s more common than you think. There are lots of clutch suppliers out there and some are more helpful than others.
We select products best suited for the customers vehicle and price being a factor we don’t always just go for the cheapest option.

We always recommend 6 month/10,000km service intervals.
Perhaps you have been told this is not necessary anymore - for certain car models the service interval (the period of time between recommended services) can now can range from 10,000 to 25,000kms and even up to 2 years.
Car engines and oil quality has improved greatly over the years and as a result, manufacturers have increased the service intervals.
Unfortunately this may offer a false sense of security to car owners. Sticking to the recommended manufacturer service intervals does not guarantee your engine will remain trouble-free.
In most car manuals, it will mention factors that impact the service intervals like personal driving habits and road conditions where the service intervals by kilometres do not apply.
That's why we think sticking to 6-months / 10,000km is best. It helps to keep your car in good condition and maximises the opportunity to be proactive about repairs before they become an issue.
Just like humans need water, cars need oil. Without it, your car won't be lubricated, causing deterioration inside your engine and potentially everyone's worst nightmare - a breakdown.
Water vapour, unburnt fuel and gases from the combustion process can overload your engine oil and these combine to form sludge deposits on your engine. Engine sludge clogs the oil galleries and limits lubrication to moving parts inside the engine which can lead to costly repairs.
Your car needs to drive 15 – 20 kilometres for the engine to fully warm up and reduce the rate of contamination. This is why we change the engine oil.
When poor quality or incorrect oil is used in an engine it often doesn’t have the right additives or viscosity to begin with, which leads to premature sludge build-up on your engine. On many occasions we’ve seen a vehicle with a full service history from the manufacturer arrive with a sludgy engine. Not good!
That’s why using a quality oil (and changing it regularly) is essential.
When you visit us, take a look at our oil shelf. We usually have over 20 different variants of engine oil in stock. We use Penrite Oils.
We’re serious about putting the right oil in your car and helping your engine last the distance – not adding you to the growing number of car drivers needing an engine replacement.
A Logbook Service refers to what the car manufacturer (e.g. Toyota, Mazda, BMW) specifies will need to be replaced / checked / cleaned adjusted during a particular service in order to maintain a vehicle’s warranty. You don't have to go to the dealership for your logbook servicing. We stick to the manufacturer's guidelines to ensure you can visit us (usually at a more affordable price) while maintaining your manufacturer warranty.
Capped price car servicing is generally a dealer service to entice customers. It's a service at a specific capped price. Ensure you check what is actually being carried out on the service. We can’t guarantee to beat pricing for a dealer capped-price service but please don’t hesitate to ask if you’re looking for an alternative.
Fixed price car servicing is very similar to capped price servicing. The idea is that you book your vehicle in for a service based on an initial quotation (usually online). On collection of your vehicle, the final invoice price will be exactly what you were quoted.
