Is your Mercedes C200 Steering Lock stuck on?
This is becoming a more frequent problem on the W204 C200 Mercedes Benz. The good news is it can be fixed and you don’t have to take it to the dealer for repair. The part brand new is very expensive. On top of this, the new part needs to be fitted and coded by the Mercedes scan tool. The good news is we have an alternative, so read on.
Great communication, honest pricing, excellent customer service. These are some of the comments our customers use to describe their experience with us.
Mercedes C200 Steering Lock
Once we remove the steering column and the ignition assembly, we send it away to a Mercedes specialist repairer who can recondition these units and modify them so that the fault shouldn’t occur again. We have done 6 of these now (the first being over 2 years ago and everything has been fine)
The turn around is approximately 3-6 working days with Overnight freight involved. The total for the standard repair will usually come to under $1300 – that’s parts, labour and freight all inclusive, much cheaper then than the brand new part and generally better for longevity.
The worst thing about the Mercedes C200 Steering lock stuck on is that the car is basically immobile. The wheel can’t turn making it extra hard for the tow truck driver to load the vehicle. A tilt tray tow truck is really the only option.
