How much does a wheel alignment cost?
On the Gold Coast, a standard two-wheel alignment typically costs starts from $90. A four-wheel alignment costs more, usually between $100 and $180, and is the right choice for most all-wheel drive vehicles and many four-wheel drives. Prices vary depending on the workshop and the equipment they use.
When do I need a wheel alignment?
Most car manufacturers recommend a wheel alignment check every 10,000km or at least once a year. You should also get it checked if:
- Your car pulls to one side when you are driving in a straight line
- Your steering wheel is not centred when driving straight
- You notice uneven tyre wear, particularly on the inner or outer edges
- You have hit a significant pothole, gutter or kerb
- You have had suspension, steering or tyre work done
What is the difference between a wheel alignment and a wheel balance?
These are two different jobs. A wheel alignment adjusts the angle of your tyres relative to each other and to the road, which affects how the car tracks straight. A wheel balance corrects the weight distribution around each wheel to stop vibrations at speed. Both are important for tyre life and driving comfort but they address different issues.
How long does a wheel alignment take?
